The Mamaroo Infant Seat Helps When Two Hands Aren’t Enough

August 4, 2016 by Jessica 20 Comments

This post is sponsored by 4moms, however all of the opinions, thoughts, and #mamaRooLove expressed in this post are entirely my own.

When I gave birth to my first child, I had just become a stay at home mom, and I had all of the time in the world (or so it seemed), to hold him.

I didn’t know anything about products like the mamaRoo infant seat, so I held my son…  A LOT.

He slept in my arms, I cuddled him when he cried, and I rocked him when it seemed like nothing else would do the trick. I spent my days basking in the glory of newborn goodness, snapping photos of him, and often times just staring at him, in awe that my husband and I were capable of creating something so perfect together.

Everything on my to-do list got pushed aside, because it was no longer a priority to me. My main concern had become caring for this tiny little baby, making sure all of his needs were met, and essentially being at his beckon call.

Reflecting back on a time when I only had one child at home with me everyday is bittersweet, now that I am a mother of three.  There is absolutely nothing easy about motherhood, I can say that for certain, but when I look back on that part of my life, I remember everything being so much more simple.

We welcomed baby number three a few months ago, and even though I had plenty of time to mentally prepare myself for the fact that I was about to be totally outnumbered before his actual arrival, when he did finally arrive, it was still a bit of an adjustment, to say the least.

I lovingly refer to Theo as our “needy” baby.  Of course he’s not really needy. Like many babies, he just wants to be held… constantly.  If life were as simple as it was the first time around, the solution would be a no-brainer, but it’s not.  I have a four year old, a two year old, and an almost four month old.  I have three kids, and I only have two hands.

Enter the mamaRoo infant seat… or as I like to refer to it, my second set of hands.  The mamaRoo infant seat is the only infant seat that replicates a parent’s natural motions.  When I need to have my hands free for my older children, but want to keep Theo content, I sit him in the mamaRoo infant seat, because unlike traditional baby swings that sway back and forth, this swing bounces up and down and sways side to side, just like I would to comfort him. On top of that, the seat can be adjusted to recline when he wants to relax, or sit up when he wants to play and be a part of whatever is going on around here.

One of my favorite features of the mamaRoo infant seat is that I can easily control it from the 4moms app on my phone.  Even if I’m across the room serving my other kids lunch or coloring with them, I can easily use the app to switch back and forth between the five unique speeds and options that the mamaRoo infant seat has to offer, or to turn on one of the four built in sounds. Not having to leave what I’m doing to make adjustments on it has been such a luxury for me.

Another feature that I love about this infant seat is that the fabric portion of the swing is machine washable, which is pretty much a necessity when babies are involved.  I also love how little space it takes up and how portable it is compared to other baby swings.  We often move the mamaRoo infant seat from room to room so that Theo doesn’t miss out on anything or plug our phones into it so that he can listen to his favorite tunes… He has serious #mamaRooLove and I know both he and I will be sad when he reaches the 25 pound weight limit and outgrows it.

The mamaRoo infant seat has been such a lifesaver around here. It’s so nice to be able to calm and sooth one child while still giving the other two the attention that they need as well.  For this busy mom of three, it really has become my second set of hands and my saving grace.

Theo is just the cutest. Parker is probably the only child on the planet that didn’t love the Mamaroo! She would scream every time I put her in it but loved her swing. I’m hoping our next (if there is a next!) will love it because it’s taking up space! HA.
