Photo Books Made Easy with Make My Book

Raise your hand if you’re guilty of having thousands of photos just sitting on your camera or phone taking up valuable storage space. If you’re anything like me, you always have the best intentions of developing your photos and turning them into beautiful albums. Yet somehow the days go buy, and still, the photos remain there. I am so guilty of this.

I often have visions of myself creating amazing scrapbooks full of all of the incredible memories we have made together as a family, but I just can’t seem to get it together and make that happen.  Life is busy and chaotic these days, and sadly fun projects like this are constantly being put on the back burner.

Over the course of the last year, I have really invested some time into learning how to use my DSLR, and have been fortunate enough to capture some beautiful images of my family… which only adds to the guilt I feel over never physically doing anything with them. Having tangible evidence of the trips that we took, and our adventures as a family is something that I long for as a mom. Being able to look at those photos together throughout the years is so important to me, which is why I enjoy turning them into photo books.  Here’s the problem though, creating those books can be really time consuming.

I have finally found a solution to that problem, Shutterfly’s Make My Book service. It used to take me hours to create and edit photo books, but with this new service, in about ten minutes I had completely set up my album and had it sent on its way. I simply uploaded my photos, chose a few preferences like the style and title of the book, and how many embellishments I wanted it to have, and then off it went to the fine people at Shutterfly’s Make My Book service. There was even a spot for me to add special instructions for the book, if it were necessary. I was honestly so impressed with how quick and simple the whole process was.

For the small fee of $9.99, Shutterfly then put the whole book together,  added some quotes and the embellishments, and sent a draft of the book back to me to review online. This was the point where I could make adjustments and changes, but I seriously loved the book exactly as it was sent, so I accepted it, and then patiently waited for it to come in the mail.

When it arrived on my doorstep, I couldn’t wait to open it and take a look.  Finally physical photos that I could hold in my hands! You guys, the book is beautiful!!! We now own a customized hardcover book, full of page upon page, of some of our favorite memories. I was amazed that such a quality product could be made in such a short amount of time. This service is one I will be using over and over again in the future.

My goal is to make books for each of my children’s first years of life, and to start making family yearbooks that document the memories as each year passes.  Clearly I have some catching up to do, but now that I have discovered Shutterfly’s Make My Book service, I know that it can actually be done!

How do you manage organizing photos?  Are you totally behind like me? If you are you should definitely check out this service!

Love this Jessica! I am the worst about printing my photos and organizing them into cute albums like this. I have so many saved on my photo and need to go through them before the holidays and do this.

I am with you mama, so many photos that I have not yet printed or bother to upload and send to close family members. It’s taking so much storage space as well. But just like you I am very happy and content with Shutterfly and the quality. Also, I want to see more of your book please! 🙂
