How to Get Your Kids to Eat Their Vegetables the Easy Way with Garden Lites

March 31, 2017 by Jessica Leave a Comment

I’m ashamed to admit it, but my kids are the pickiest eaters ever. Once upon a time, when my oldest was a baby, he would gobble up every fruit or veggie that I put in front of him, as I watched in awe. He just couldn’t get enough of blueberries, carrots, and peas, and I thought that I had been blessed with the best little eater around… until he turned two. Suddenly, all he wanted to eat was carbs. I couldn’t get him to eat a vegetable to save my life, and it was beyond frustrating. As you can probably guess, sadly my daughter is now following right in his footsteps, and I don’t doubt that my youngest will eventually too. As moms, I think that one of our main goals is getting our kids to eat a well balanced diet, but that isn’t always easy. Sometimes we have to get sneaky about it. This my friends, is why I LOVE Garden Lites… these muffins are a total game changer.

Garden Lites are muffins that are made with 1/3 vegetables, including zucchini, which makes them really moist and delicious. In addition to the fact that these muffins are super tasty, they also happen to be dairy, nut, and gluten free, and they are made with with real, clean ingredients. I’m always a skeptic when it comes to foods that claim to be healthy and taste good too… like my kids will be on to me as soon as they take their first bite, but I’m telling you, they love Garden Lites muffins. They think they are getting a yummy chocolate treat every time I put one on their plates, and I secretly rejoice in the fact that they’re eating their vegetables, and enjoying it at the same time. Literally, the first thing out of my four year old’s mouthy when he tried Garden Lites was, “yummy, chocolate!”.

We live a pretty on-the-go lifestyle, and it’s so great to have found a healthy food option, that is perfect for throwing in my bag when we’re running out the door. Garden Lites can be thawed at room temperature, or warmed in the microwave… a big win for when my babes pull the “I’m starving” line out of nowhere! My kids attend a nut-free school, which sometimes makes it hard to find snacks that are easy to just throw in their lunch boxes, but Garden Lites muffins are perfect for that. Believe it or not, I actually love these muffins too. They are great little healthy “treat” when I’m craving something sweet, but want to stick to eating a clean diet.

I know you might be thinking that there is no way these muffins taste that good if the main ingredient is veggies, but I promise you they do. If you don’t believe me, try Garden Lites for yourself! I’m telling you that you and your kids will love them. You can find them in the freezer section of your nearest Kroger, Publix, HEB, Stop & Shop, Shop-Rite, Giant, or Costco.

What’s your kid’s favorite healthy snack?
