After renting for the last two years, I have to say, it feels pretty darn good to finally be a homeowner again, and to have the chance to roll up my sleeves, and dive headfirst into doing the things that turn a house into a home. I get giddy over home decor stuff, so picking out the perfect paint colors, the right furniture and fixtures, and all of the best finishing touches for a certain space instantly puts me in my happy place. Naturally, this can all be a little overwhelming too. If you follow my Instagram stories, then you know that I recently expressed my frustrations about the layout of our new family room. I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock with how I want things to be set up, so I’ve decided for now that I’m going to step away from it temporarily, and get to work on our dining room. This room needs very little done aesthetically. The floors are already hardwood, I’ve decided on a paint color, I’ve ordered an area rug, and I’ve made up my mind on which way I want to go from a design stand point. So, today I’m sharing a little bit of inspiration, and hopefully in the near future, I will be sharing the before and afters!
