2018: New Year, Fresh Start

I’m a couple of days late, but I thought it was time to hit publish on a post that recapped 2017, and shared my outlook for 2018 and all that it will (hopefully) hold. I always have a hard time letting go of the holiday season, and have been known to let it linger for as long as humanly possible, but this year, I’m really looking forward to the prospect of a fresh start, setting some (big) goals, and making plans for seeing them through.

2017 was an overall good year for both our family and for Kozy & Co. On a personal level, it was a year of big changes for us all. In the early spring, we got the news that we would be relocating to the Philadelphia area, which set forth an in-depth house hunt, mostly from afar. It was bittersweet, as we had grown to really love NY, and we weren’t sure that we were quite ready to say goodbye, but we were also excited and optimistic about the future and all that it would hold for us. After looking at nearly 50 houses, we found the home of our dreams… an unlikely contender that was in the perfect location and held too much potential to pass up. In August, we watched our entire house in NY get boxed up and loaded into a big truck, as we loaded our family of five into our minivan and headed off to PA. In September, we waved as we watched our oldest baby climb the steps of a school bus and head off to kindergarten. That same day, as I sobbed over the fact that my kids are growing far too quickly, we found out that we were expecting again… a baby girl, due this spring! This fall and winter have been chalkful of renovations and updates, as we have been (very) busy turning our house into the home that we envisioned when we stumbled upon it.

From a business standpoint, Kozy & Co. has continued to grow and evolve into something that I never even dreamed was possible. If someone had told me when I started this little blog almost four years ago, that I would eventually have the amazing opportunities that I have had, and that I would form the incredible relationships/friendships that I have, I would have never believed them. For someone like me, who always liked their jobs just okay, but never truly felt like they had found their calling, this blog has been a Godsend. The fact that I get to do something that I truly love so much, provide for my family, and get to stay at home and raise my babies, blows my mind every single day.

In the coming year, I hope to continue to see this business grow and thrive. I hope to share more bits and pieces of our home with you, as it comes along. I hope to create and share more recipes, make time for and share more crafts and DIY projects, continue to share about our favorite things, and naturally I intend to share as much as I can in terms of my pregnancy and all things baby. It goes without saying, that we are all looking forward to the coming year, and that we can’t wait to welcome our newest addition this spring.

I want to thank you all for your continued support. For reading and sharing what I have to say, for engaging on my posts, and simply for being here. As readers, you are what matters most, and a huge part of what has made Kozy & Co. a success. So from the very bottom of my heart, thank you, and Happy New Year!
