How I Keep My Floors Clean with Three Kids at Home

February 8, 2018 by Jessica Leave a Comment

So, here’s the thing… I’m not really a huge fan of carpeting. I have always had a deep affection for the look and feel of hardwood floors, so when we finally found the perfect house this past summer, I knew that one of the first things that I wanted to do was remove the carpet in our new home, and install new flooring. Thankfully, my husband was on board. It was one of the first big projects that we took on in this house, and now that it’s complete (minus a few details), I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The thing of it is however, as many of you know, I have three young kids and another one on the way. Above and beyond that, this house gets A LOT of light, and when that light hits the new floors just right, you can see every speck of dirt and dust, so I have to be pretty diligent about cleaning them to keep them looking their best.

I’ve tried a lot of products in the past on the wood floors in our previous homes, but always struggled to get great results. It seemed like everything I tried cleaned them just okay, but many of them left streaks or a hazy finish. It totally drove me crazy. Recently, I had the opportunity to try a new floor mop and cleaner from Bona, and I was super impressed with the product. Not only was the mop easy to assemble, but it is durable and lightweight, making it a cinch to use on a regular basis (which I do). I really like the way that the mop functions. It delivers just a fine mist of the cleaning solution, rather than a stream that saturates one area of my floor. It makes me crazy when I have to wait forever for my floors to dry, because I know for certain that my kids will end up walking on them, while wet, every single time. Thanks to its super absorbent microfiber mop pad, this isn’t an issue with the Bona mop. The dark blue outer fibers of the pad help to break up grime, while the lighter blue inner fibers trap and absorb dirt.

Bona’s Hardwood Floor Mop is the new generation of wood floor mops, because it took Bona’s already awesome cleaner, and partnered it with an easy-to-use and practical mop… essentially creating the perfect pair. The mop itself is versatile too, as it can used with a wide array of Bona cleaners to suit everyone. As a mom, the cleaning products that I use in our home are really important to me, so I love the fact that the Bona cleaning solution has a Greengard Gold certification, making it safe to use around my family.

These days, I don’t have a ton of time to spend cleaning, even though it’s totally necessary around here, so I’m all about products that make my life easier. If they work efficiently and get the job done right, well that’s even better. The Bona floor mop and the new floors that we installed in our home have been wonderful together, and I’m so glad to have found a simple solution for keeping them looking their best.

If you’re looking for the perfect pair to clean the floors in your own home, be sure to check out all that Bona has to offer here, where you can sign up to be a BonaFied Fanatic and receive free shipping plus $5 off a mop of your own!
