If you’ve been following me over on Instagram over the last several weeks, then you probably already know that we’ve been on a pretty serious health kick around here since the start of the new year. I’m not sure if you guys know this, but March is actually National Nutrition Month. That’s right, a whole month dedicated to focusing on the importance of making informed food choices and physical activity habits. Since my friends over at Babbleboxx sent over a box full of yummy and nutritious goodies, and I love sharing about my favorite foods and snacks, I am super excited to share some of my favorite food finds, along with some great offers and discounts, with you all today!
Action For Healthy Kids
Action For Healthy Kids (AFHK) isn’t a food, but it is an awesome nonprofit organization that brings together families and educators to create healthier schools and communities that support the physical and emotional health of children. Through grant funding, programmatic support, online resources, and a parent ambassador network, AFHK makes an impact on schools and communities with the greatest need.
I love this organization because they really emphasize the importance of teaching healthy habits at an early age. According to a national survey by Action For Healthy Kids, 76% of parents say they have improved their own habits based on something their child told them about health and well-being, which is why it’s so important that our kids are learning about health and nutrition at school. AFHK realizes the importance of this and provides the tools for families to improve their nutrition, physical activity and well-being at home.
You can learn more about learn more about AFHK HERE, and you can commit to take Action For Healthy Kids too at www.actionforhealthykids.org/win by March 31, 2020 and be entered to win a healthy taste test kit to host a fun and tasty nutrition education activity for students at your children’s school. (valued at $175)
Wondermelon Cucumber Basil from WONDER MELON™ Juice

Apple Cinnamon Granola Bar + Sweet & Salty Granola Bar from MadeGood Foods
Snack bars are our jam, and MadeGood bars specifically are a family favorite. My personal favorite are their Sweet & Salty Granola Bars, because they’re the perfect combination of sweet & salty when you aren’t quite sure which one you want. They have a hint of something peanut but their definitely made without peanuts. My husband loves the Apple Cinnamon Bars. Since they are made with whole grains and oat bran, they are slow to digest, which keeps him full longer.
MadeGood offers a wide range of snacks in a variety of flavors, and they’re all made with real fruit, nutrients from veggies, and they’re free from all 8 allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, egg, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish), making them safe for school. Their bars are also only 90 calories and only contain 6 grams of sugar. You can buy them in bulk at Amazon.com, on Instacart, and on Walmart.com. You can also find them at Target, Whole Foods, CVS, Kroger, and more. Learn more about MadeGood Foods HERE.
Power Dressings from Healthy Choice
I’ve grown to really love salads over the last few years, and when I make them at home I like to be packed full of flavor and healthy stuff. The new Power Dressings from Healthy Choice add tons of flavor to your salad while keeping it healthy. The salad dressings are made with real vegetables and no artificial flavors or soy ingredients. Flavors include Creamy Ranch, Creamy Italian, Garden French, and Greener Goddess, all of which are 45 calories per serving. The Garden French is a favorite of mine, and I also really like the Creamy Ranch with fresh veggies for dipping.

Dessert Hummus from Tribe Hummus
If you haven’t already tried Dessert Hummus from Tribe, then you do not know what you are missing. Our family is obsessed with this stuff! With flavors like Dark Chocolate, Sea Salt Caramel, Cake Batter, Pea No-Nut Butter, and Vanilla Bean, how could we not be? They’re perfect for snacking on at any time of day and we love pairing them with apple slices, pretzels, strawberries, and even spread on waffles. All of the Dessert Hummus flavors have only 5g of sugar per serving, no artificial preservatives and they are free of all major allergens, vegan, gluten free, kosher, and non-GMO Project verified.
We particularly love the Dark Chocolate Hummus and the Pea No-Nut flavor. The Dark Chocolate is a smooth blend of chickpeas and cocoa. Its great with strawberries, bananas, on graham crackers, on toast, and its even awesome on s’mores! The Pea No-Nut is made with extra nutty tahini and coconut oil, mixed with chickpeas giving it a rich smooth taste like peanut butter without the peanuts. My kids love dipping apple slices in this flavor.
