Our Plans for the Patio Update

May 12, 2020 by Jessica Leave a Comment

You guys, this is a project that’s been almost three years in the making. When we first bought our house in 2017, the back yard was very heavily landscaped and a tree planted close to the patio had roots that had caused the pavers to being to buckle. Though a lot of the landscaping was pretty, it was overwhelming. We couldn’t really enjoy that patio without feeling a little claustrophobic, and it was obvious that the tree root issue needed to be dealt with. Mike and I started talking about how we might fix everything and what we really wanted for an outdoor space. Last fall, we hired professionals to come trim back some trees, and to remove some of the others, and we got rid of some stuff on our own. This really opened the area up and the wheels began to spin on what we could really accomplish in this space. I do plan to share a before and after post in the future with all of the details on what direction we decided to go in with everything, but I’m not sure how long it will be before this whole project is done and that post is officially in the works. Some big things will be happening this week that I will be sharing on my Instagram stories, but in the meantime I wanted to share a little inspiration board that I created for the patio. I truly want this space to be an extension of our home. We spend a lot of time in the back yard, and I want it to be a relaxing and inviting place to be. I love creating mood boards so that I can really see how things will come together, and then also to see how things change as the design of everything pans out. I really cant wait to share the finished project with you guys!
