As January kicked off I dove headfirst back into reading and just couldn’t get enough. I read seven books last month, from thrillers, to romance novels, to popular YA stories. There so many great ones that I just had to put together a post to share in case any of you are in need of a good read! I plan to continue to post what I’m reading throughout the year, so be prepared for more book shares.
1. Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine
I rated this book a 4/5 on Goodreads. It was slow to start for me, but once I got into it, I absolutely loved it. The storyline was both sad and heart-warming at the same time, and it was hard not to fall in love with the main character by the end of the book!
Full disclosure, I downloaded this book last summer and picked it up and put it back down several times. I loved the author’s previous book “Beach Read”, and I really wanted to love this one too. I’m not entirely sure why I had such a hard time getting into it the first time, but I’m so glad that I gave it another chance. I rated this book a 4/5 as well. It was an easy and fast read once it got going. It was a great second-chance romance story that I would definitely recommend.
I think it goes without saying that Colleen Hoover can do no wrong! I haven’t read a single book of hers that I didn’t love, and this one was no exception. Reminders of Him was such a sad storyline that kept me binge reading. I rated this one a 5/5.
I think that I picked this book because it was recommended for me on Kindle Unlimited and I was intrigued. The story was really tough to read as a mom, but the suspense kept me going. I rated this one a 5/5.
Another suspenseful and dark book, but also another one that I couldn’t put down. I gave this one a 4/5. I definitely recommend, especially if you like thrillers.
So many dark books in a row. The Good Lie is by the same author as “Every Last Secret” and definitely delivered lots of crazy twists. I rated this one a 5/5.
After reading multiple thrillers I needed something a little lighter and more upbeat. This book was just the thing. It was silly and romantic, and just easy. I gave this one a 4/5.
